75 years Luwa

In 1935, the brothers Hans C. and Walter A. Bechtler founded Luwa AG in Zurich, Switzerland, manufacturing and installing automated heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems.

The name Luwa was derived from the German words Luft (Lu / air) and Waerme (wa / heat).

Even though Luwa grew into a highly diversified Multinational Company, the focus has always been on Industrial Air Conditioning. Luwa was the pioneer in air conditioning and filtration plants for the textile industry. In 1941 Luwa patented special exhaust systems for spinning machines, for the Pneumafil products, and launched the TAC philosophy (Total Air Control).

After the Second World War, Luwa established subsidiary companies and agencies in Europe, in the Far East, South East Asia, the Middle East and the Americas.

Luwa has always made great efforts to be close to customers in all main markets around the wolrd.

With a reputation for Quality and Reliability, Luwa attained market leadership in Industrial Air Conditioning in the global market. Swiss quality engineering combined with local setups and global sourcing results in world class products at a competitive price.

With a new, lean organization, Luwa remains committed to serve customers with Industrial Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Filtration Systems of the highest quality standard.

We are proud of our past, visionary about our future, and commited to excellence in the present.
